The programme brings together two works for solo modular synthesiser, two pieces that explore the instrument’s sonic possibilities from different perspectives.
The first, Splendor, is a hypnotic exploration of multiple analogue oscillators performing a continuous glissando. The piece is presented in a completely dark room, where the audience is immersed in a constantly moving mass of sound that passes through different states of trance and ecstasy.
The second piece, Las enumeraciones, is more expansive in character and has a strong performative element. Its title refers to the persistent idea of pulse, which, through various techniques, shapes a series of sonic situations emerging from precise yet volatile synthesiser configurations. Tiny or massive sounds emerge, created through drastic modulation of analogue oscillators and extremely rapid sequences. With the slightest adjustment of the parameters, these sounds can disappear, transform or give rise to a new sonic situation.
