The performance combines concert electronic music and experimental techno. The modular synthesiser lies at the heart of the project, providing the basis for sonic ideas built around sequencing and the modulation of sound parameters.
This hybrid approach reflects the work the composer has developed in recent years in the field of electronic music, bringing together ideas that have emerged from a process that remains open and under constant review.
All the material is programmed and performed live, which places significant limits on the amount and complexity of material that can be handled simultaneously. This constraint is, in itself, an integral part of the project’s approach.
The music has a minimalist quality, though not in the traditional sense of the term: it is direct, at times austere and repetitive, built around processes of sequencing, repetition and modulation. The formal approach is strongly influenced by the artist’s background in architecture.
