Recital in Transit invites audiences to discover the oboe from a perspective that moves beyond its more conventional forms. Christopher Redgate, oboist and researcher, has devoted much of his career to exploring the instrument’s sonic possibilities through extended techniques and a virtuosic approach to performance.
His practice is rooted in research and dialogue with composers, in a continuous process of experimentation that expands the oboe’s vocabulary and reveals new forms of expression. The result is a fresh perspective on the instrument, bringing its sound, possibilities and limits to the forefront.
A recital in motion, in which the oboe emerges as an instrument capable of travelling through diverse sonic territories and opening up new paths within contemporary music.
