For the second time, the ME_MMIX festival is collaborating with Institut Joan Alcover in Palma on a joint project. First-year upper secondary students are taking part in an experimental module in which they explore live arts and the texts of Joan Alcover, marking the centenary of the poet’s death and recognising the fact that the school bears his name.
The project is an educational activity aimed at developing new audiences, integrated into the Technology curriculum at IES Joan Alcover. The project is coordinated by teacher Miquela Vallespir, while the course is led by Mateu Malondra, musician, composer and director of the ME_MMIX festival.
The results of the course will be presented in a collective event on 19 November at 7 pm at Teatre Xesc Forteza in Palma. The event is supported by Palma City Council, the municipal theatre network and the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities.
ME_MMIX aims to create a platform dedicated to the promotion and creation of contemporary work in sound and visual arts, with a focus on technological innovation. It also develops projects related to sound, multidisciplinary performing arts and education.
