Vertixe Sonora arrives at ME_MMIX with a programme centred on one of the essential driving forces of contemporary music: the creation of new repertoire. Since its founding in 2010, this chamber ensemble has placed the performance and dissemination of new music at the heart of its work, acting as a platform that gives space and visibility to contemporary creation.
Their presence at the festival shines a spotlight on music that is yet to be discovered. World premieres thus become an opportunity for listening and discovery, where new compositions come to life before an audience for the very first time, offering a glimpse into different ways of approaching sound, composition and performance in the present day.
With Ramón Souto as artistic director since its beginnings, Vertixe Sonora has established a track record rooted in research and the dissemination of contemporary music. Each new programme becomes an opportunity to push the boundaries of the repertoire and bring new voices in musical creation to the fore.
