K12, the trio formed by Gori Matas, Marko Lohikari and Teo Salvà, arrives at ME_MMIX with its distinctive contemporary jazz language, built on improvisation, attentive listening and the exploration of the boundaries between composition and spontaneity. Their musical universe brings together influences from modern jazz, pop, folk, rock and contemporary music, and is defined by the ability to create shifting forms, textures and contrasts through the communication between the three musicians.
On this occasion, K12 joins forces with Sebastian Schottke, a Tonmeister and specialist in contemporary electroacoustic music with an extensive international career in sound creation, spatial audio and new forms of electronic performance. His experience opens up a space for dialogue between live music and the possibilities of transforming and expanding sound.
The encounter brings together two worlds rooted in listening and experimentation: jazz improvisation and electroacoustic creation. An opportunity to discover how a trio can expand its musical language and how sound can become a living, constantly evolving material that extends beyond the instrument itself.
