ME_MMIX 2025 is an innovative contemporary creation festival held in Palma with the aim of strengthening the city, supporting Palma’s bid to become the European Capital of Culture 2031, and positioning the Balearic Islands as a Mediterranean artistic reference point.
The festival features a multidisciplinary programme focused on electronic music, sound art, visual arts, music documentary film, and interactive installations. With a clear European vocation and more than 45 activities, ME_MMIX presents itself as a platform for new creation, a space for emerging artists that promotes the hybridisation of disciplines and highlights sound as a creative material.
It focuses on immersive and sensory formats, where sound and image engage in an equal dialogue. The programme includes artists such as Neus Estarellas, Paula González, Gregor Dierck, Pilar Fontalba, Multilatérale, Vertixe Sonora, AlterFace, K12, Carolina Santiago & Carmen Kleykens, and the jazz trio Geometrical Sardine.
Family-oriented projects also stand out, such as Zulu-Zulu, the Sound Workshop by Carlos Anguera, and the participatory show by Artista Desconocido. The festival also offers experimental electronic sessions (with Ishak Benavides), screenings, professional meetings, talks by Magda Polo and Jaume C. Pons Alorda, and tributes to Boulez and Llompart.
