TEC Ensemble

It was born as a working ensemble for the Composition Workshops of the Composers’ Encounters, an initiative by composer Maties Far in collaboration with the ACA Foundation.

Originally, it was designed as a working tool for the training and specialization of composers in the Balearic Islands, and in 2024 it opened up to composers from all over the world. That is why, from the very beginning, it has been made up of performers and composers focused on the study and performance of creative music. Creation as action and as thought.

Throughout five consecutive workshops, the group has become aware of its own identity and has been defining the type of sound, as well as the context, in which creation and performance can take place in the Balearic Islands. Always around curiosity and learning. Always based on extended techniques and new relationships between sound, science and nature. Always driven by the need to communicate with the audience about creative processes and the ever-complex relationships with tradition—whether inherited or newly forged.
