
Magda Polo Pujadas is Professor of Aesthetics and Theory of the Arts and of Music History at the University of Barcelona. She earned her PhD in Philosophy of Music at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Barcelona and carried out research in Germany, Italy, and the United States. She has taught at various national universities and at international universities such as CUNY, Yale, and the Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna. She is President of APMUPE (Association of Professors of Spanish Public Universities). In 2022, she founded the sound research group Ekho, where she serves as director. With this group, she has developed the Sonic Portraits, which combine AI, soundscape, and electronic music under the concept of Hybrid Conceptual Music (HCM). Their works have premiered at Sónar, Actual, and Eufònic.
